Hong Kong Team Added Two More Gold at BISFed 2019 Seoul Boccia Asia-Oceania Championships
Hong Kong Team added BC3 Pairs and BC4 Pairs gold medals to their collection at the BISFed 2019 Seoul Boccia Asia-Oceania Championships and won slots to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. BC4 Pairs The combination of LAU Wai Yan Vivian, LEUNG Yuk Wing and WONG Kwan Hang beat UAE 10-0 and took a thrilling tiebreak victory against China when the game is tied at 3-3 to proceed to final four. They beat Korea 6-5 in semi-finals and sealed a breathtaking win against Thailand after a 3-3 tie to clinch the gold medal. BC3 Pairs HO Yuen Kei, LIU Wing Tung, TSE Tak Wah first lose to Singapore 1-5, but they made amends in the next two matches, winning UAE 12-0 and Korea 6-3 to advance to elimination rounds. They overcame Thailand 4-0 in semi-finals before claiming the title with a 5-2 triumph over Japan. BC1/BC2 Team The team, represented by LEUNG Mei Yee, CHAN Kam Chau, KWOK Hoi Ying Karen, YEUNG Hiu Lam and LOUNG John lost to Thailand 3-11 and Korea 3-8 and stopped in pool plays. The BISFed 2019 Seoul Boccia Asia-Oceania Championships concluded today (9 July). Together with the two titles claimed in individual events, Hong Kong team brought home a total of four gold medals.
