Scheme for Priority Booking of Facilities at Designated Venues by Organizations of People with Disabilities The Government engaged the Hong Kong Baptist University to conduct the “Consultancy Study on Sport for People with Disabilities in Hong Kong” to study on how to support disabled athletes and promote sports participation by people with disabilities in a more comprehensive manner. In response to the recommendations, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department launched a scheme in some of its sports centres for relevant organizations to make priority bookings for non-peak slots to organize sports activities such as training courses and inclusive activities suitable for the impaired. The pilot scheme has been completed and the authority also announced the arrangement is implemented on a long-term basis at designated sports centres with immediate effect to provide support to disabled organizations.
