 Hong Kong Team Clinched Bronze at ITTF Para Bangkok Open 2019
The ITTF Para Bangkok Open 2019 completed on 10 August. CHIU Kan Shan and WONG Yue Ching clinched a bronze medal in team events. Women’s Team TT6-8 CHIU Kan Shan and WONG Yue Ching lost to Indonesia 1-2 and then defeat Thailand and India 2-0. They advanced to elimination rounds with 2-1 win-loss record but they suffered in the hands of Thailand in semi-finals 0-2 and clinched a bronze. Women’s Team TT9-10 LAM Yan Yu, partnered with Singapore’s Gim Sim KIM, was defeated by Thailand and Chinese Taipei 0-2 and then Indonesia 1-2 in the robin round. They ranked the 4th place. Men’s Team TT7 TONG Chi Ming and TONG Chi Yung first won South Korea 2-1, but then they lost to North Korea and Czech 0-2 in preliminary matches and could not proceed to knockout rounds. Men’s Team TT10 CHAN Hon Man and WU Jiancheng lost to Great Britain and the combination of Chinese Taipei and India 0-2 in pool plays and failed to advance.
