Hong Kong Para table tennis players completed ITTF Thailand Para Open 2022 singles events and won one silver and five bronze medals on 19 July.
 
Men’s Singles TT3
CHOI Siu Hung enjoyed first win in pool play as his opponent Yuttajak GLINBANCHUEN from Thailand withdrew, but then he was defeated by Yeongjin JANG from South Korea 0-3. With 1-1 win-loss record, he advanced to elimination round. However, he was stopped by Jun LEE from South Korea 0-3 in the quarter-finals.
 
Men’s Singles TT6
CHOY Hing Lam failed to advance with 2 loss record in the pool events. He suffered a 0-3 loss to Thailand’s player Rungroj THAINIYOM, and 1-3 loss to Chile’s Matias Nicolas PINO LORCA.
 
Men’s Singles TT7
TONG Chi Yung advanced to elimination record with 1-1 win loss record as he was defeated by Netherland’s Jean-paul MONTANUS 2-3 and his opponent Suriyone THAPAENG from Thailand withdrew. Unfortunately, he lost to Thailand’s PUNPOO Chalermpong 0-3 in the quarter-finals.
 
TONG Chi Ming firstly defeated Stephane MESSI from France 3-2, then won over India’s Anshul AGARWA and South Korea’s Young Min LEE 3-0 respectively. He advanced to knockout round with all winning record in pool stage. After benefiting from a bye in the quarter-finals, he suffered a 1-3 loss to PUNPOO Chalermpong from Thailand and claimed a bronze.
 
CHEN Silu brushed aside the challenge of India’s Sanjeev HAMMANNAVAR 3-0, then was defeated by Thailand’s Chalermpong PUNPOO 0-3, but then outplayed Kazakhstan’s Azamat ORAZBEK 3-0 in the pool events. With 2-1 win-loss record, he advanced to the knockout round. However, he was defeated by Stephane MESSI from France 0-3 in the quarter-finals.

Men’s Singles TT8
LAM Ka Wai wore down Kuwait’s Mohammad ALRASHIDI 3-0, then lost to Thailand’s Komkrit CHARITSAT 1-3, but then won over Indian’s Gajanan PARMAR 3-0 in the pool stage. He made it to the quarter-finals with 2-1 win-loss record. Unfortunately, he lost to Thailand’s Phisit WANGPHONPHATHANASIRI 2-3 in the semi-finals to earn a bronze medal.
 
Men’s Singles TT9
HO Ka Sing advanced to elimination round with 2-1 win-loss record as he won over Kazakhstan’s Talgat EREKEYEV and Kuwait’s Abdullah QASEM 3-0 respectively and lost to Ander CEPAS from Spain 0-3. He then defeated DEHGHANPOUR Naser from Iran 3-0 and teammate WONG Chi Yin 3-1 in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively. Unfortunately, he lost to Ander CEPAS from Spain 0-3 in the finals to earn a silver medal.
 
WONG Chi Yin advanced to elimination round with 3 wins record as he brushed aside Mohammaderfan GHOLAMI from Iran, Sukij SAMEE from Thailand and Dattaprasad Jotiram CHOUGULE from Indian 3-0 respectively. After enjoying a bye in the quarter-finals, he then lost to teammate HO Ka Sing 1-3 in the semi-finals and captured a bronze.
 
CHEUNG Ping Kwai Samuel advanced to elimination round with 2-1 win-loss record as he was defeated by Iran’s Naser DEHGHANPOUR 0-3, then won over India’s Ranjit Singh GUJJAR and Kuwait’s Ali ALSANEA 3-0 respectively. However, he was stopped by Mohammaderfan GHOLAMI from Iran 1-3 in the quarter-finals.
 
Women’s Singles TT4-5
WONG Pui Yi advanced to elimination round with 2-1 win loss record as she won over Japan’s Kimie BESSHO 3-0, then suffered a 0-3 loss to Thailand’s Wassana SRINGAM, and her opponent Thailand’s Wijittra JAION withdrew. Unfortunately, she lost to Thailand’s Panwas SRINGAM 0-3 in the semi-finals and bagged a bronze.
 
Women’s Singles TT6
PANG Wing Ka advanced to elimination round with 1-1 win-loss record as her opponent Supannee KOKAEW from Thailand withdrew and she lost to South Korea’s Nam-Mi PARK 0-3. She was then defeated by South Korea’s Sung Keum MOON 2-3 in the semi-finals and claimed a bronze.
